Maria obtained her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University (2001) prior to attending St George’s University School of Medicine (2006). She then returned to his home to attend State University in New Orleans (2006-09) for her internship and residency in Internal Medicine.\nShe then traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to complete a Fellowship in Intervention Cardiology at Hahnemann Hospital in conjunction with Drexel University, where she received extensive training in coronary as well as peripheral interventions and limb salvage procedures. She actively participates in clinical research trials and has been published in peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of the State Medical Society and Baylor University Medical Center’s Proceedings.\nIn her spare time, watches college and professional football and enjoys traveling, swimming and playing chess. She is currently Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. She moved to California where she completed both her Internship (’85-’86) and Residency (’87-’89) at the University of California.
